iPhone’s 17 year old unlocker trades for new car

Sep 11th 2007

ref_0706iphone_hand George Hotz, the 17 year old teenager who was the first to unlock his Apple iPhone, traded his unlocked iPhone for a new car and 3 brand new iPhones.

According to NineMSN News, Hotz traded the the iPhone to a Kentucky-based mobile phone repair company, who also said that they “do not have any plans on the table right now to commercialise Mr Hotz’s discovery”. The three new iPhones that are also being given to Hotz will apparently be donated to the 3 guys who apparently assisted Hotz in his ventures to unlock the iPhone.

With approximately 4 new ways to hack the iPhone, Apple’s methods of restricting users to AT&T are finally over.

Blog Redesigned

Sep 8th 2007

wt46e2a26ab1d2f-thumb_large After the launch of MiCCAS.net Version 2, we completely forgot about the blog - sporting a very different skin than the MiCCAS.net website itself. So, we decided to put our foot down and completely intergrate it with the MiCCAS.net website.

Now, you’ll notice the theme of the site has changed. We’ve taken the design we used on the MiCCAS.net website and formed it into a wordpress theme. We removed the menu bar, and placed the sidebar on the right hand side.

After hours of hard work, it’s done. Of course, I’m sure there’ll be a few bugs but the point of this post is to thank a good friend of mine who has been helping me out hugely with the whole MiCCAS.networks project. EmZeD, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I wouldn’t have had the site looking as good without you!

You’ll be able to see some of EmZeD’s projects very soon, as he’ll be developing them in the coming weeks! Until then, you’ll be able to see him lurking around on the forums or posting on the blog!
