New Environmentally Friendly Internet and Hosting Provider
Nearly every household is doing it’s bit to cut down on energy usage, with the recent advertisements and media announcements to cut back. However, a lot of people don’t realise that their Internet provider is using a large amount of energy which their users cannot prevent. Or can they?
Nathan Bird, the co-founder of GreenISP, a soon-to-be-released eco-friendly Internet provider, says that GreenISP is “an Australian Internet, Web Hosting and Infrastructure provider established to provide eco-savvy people with a cleaner and more socially responsible means of connecting to the Internet.”
The project will involve a whole new infrastructure to be built, with new networks being created to be as eco-friendly as possible, something currently not available in the Australian market. Other projects being developed through the GreenISP network include PC parts donations with working PCs being donated to charities and other not-for-profit organisations.
Plus, for “every new customer that signs up, we plant a tree on their behalf to reduce their carbon footprint”
The project is currently awaiting approval for incorporation after which GreenISP will be applying for assistance in expanding their innovative network through grants provided by the Department of the Environment and Water Resources, however interest registration is currently available on the web-site - www.GreenISP.net.au
